The Upper Canada Chapter is part of Women in Aviation, International, an organization that is dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation career fields, and interests.
Our chapter is a registered non-profit organization in the province of Ontario, and are always looking for new and innovative ways to engage with our community. We host member exclusive events, as well as social activities where everyone is welcome. We also participate in Girls in Aviation Day; an annual, free event that includes aviation-based activities, static displays, guest speakers, and networking opportunities for young women.
Our membership is comprised of highly motivated women with diverse backgrounds in aviation all across Ontario, Canada, but are primarily located within Southern Ontario. Some members are nearing the end of long, successful careers, whereas others are just beginning. Where ever you find yourself on your path in aviation, we are ready to introduce you to like-minded women that are passionate about aviation.
We believe all women can achieve their goals, both personally and professionally.
We are passionate about making meaningful connections, engaging with each other, and inspiring the next generation of aviation enthusiast.
We want to develop a chapter that is welcoming and passionate about women, and their goals in aviation.
To remain a valuable resource for each other, and our community, that strives to promote the achievements of women in aerospace and aviation.
To encourage all women to pursue their goals in aviation through mentorship and the vast resources in our chapter, but also through Women in Aviation, International (WAI).
Women in Aviation, International has awarded more than $13.2 million in scholarships since 1995. In 2020 alone, more than $831,365 was awarded to 151 deserving recipients, of that $10,000 was awarded to Upper Canada Chapter members.
The purpose of the scholarship program is to reward and encourage remarkable women to pursue their dreams in aviation and aerospace, and to give women the opportunity to succeed.
